Our Mission
“Equity has to be intentional.”
-Judge Bernice Donald, Founding Member of CEDM
Educate. Train. Assist.
CEDM’s mission is to educate, train, and assist community stakeholders in identifying and addressing factors that inhibit fair and equitable decision-making in the delivery of services.
Every day, we work to fulfill the potential of Memphis and Shelby County by fostering excellence in decision-making among key community leaders, businesses, and individual members of our community.
Through our partnerships with the University of Memphis School of Law and the Memphis Bar Association, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers within the criminal justice system, providing expanded access to education, and improving fair hiring and promotion practices. Our workshops and training programs provide tangible tools that help eliminate biases and make way for conscious, intentional decision making.
