Doris Randle-Holt is the Federal Defender for the Western District of Tennessee. Doris graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Doris received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. While in law school, Doris was the Student Defender for the University of Memphis. She was awarded the Honor Award for Juvenile Courts by University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She was an extern in the United States Attorney Office for the Western District of Tennessee.
Doris was the senior judicial law clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge Odell Horton of the Western District of Tennessee. Doris Randle-Holt was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1988, admitted to the Federal Bar for the Western District of Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1988. She joined the Federal Defender’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee as an Assistant Federal Defender on October 2, 1989. She became the First Assistant in June 2006. Doris was appointed the Federal Defender on April 19, 2013 by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
